Light Cigarettes just as Harmful

Ever thought you were doing yourself less harm when smoking a Marlboro Light? Well, you can safely bury that illusion now. Information released during a Senate committee hearing last week bolstered the case that "light" or "ultra light" cigarettes are just as harmful to your health as regular ones—if not worse. And not only that: the big tobacco companies have been aware of this fact for 30 years, according to an internal memo from Philip Morris.

The Canadian government is banning the use of the words "light" and "mild" in cigarette brand names. These names are just more in the long line of tobacco company lies and deception. And unfortunately they're probably still engaged in misleading the public wherever they think that they can get away with it. Posted by: Phil at November 26, 2007 1:23 PM |

I actually thought light cigarettes were good for me just like light beer. But seriously though, I didn't know they were just as harmful tit for tat, ultra light for regular. Posted by: ryan at November 27, 2007 10:53 PM |
