20 Years of Appetite

Two weeks ago Guns N' Roses' debut album Appetite for Destruction turned 20 years old. At the impressionable age of 8, Appetite was the 3rd album I ever owned (free drink to anyone who can guess what the first two were). Listening to the album as I write this there is no question why it is still in my top 5 favorite albums of all time. Surely my love of the album is apparent to anyone who has heard my karaoke rendition of Mr. Brownstone.
As a tribute to its greatness, the current issue of Rolling Stone dedicated the cover story to the album.

My guess on your first two albums are "Poison: Look What the Cat Dragged In" and "Bon Jovi: Slippery When Wet" Where's my drink? Posted by: Dude at August 15, 2007 9:16 AM |

Damn that was close! You got it half right, "Slippery When Wet" was the first album I ever owned. I never really got into all the hair bands like Poison and whatnot. Getting 1/2 is worth a Miller High Life or PBR I suppose... ; ) The second album I ever owned came out in 86, and I would not be ashamed to own it today... because I do. High Life is the only one I can stomach... Miller Light would be preferable if I have to drink shitty beer. Where do you live, Columbus? lol...I'll go a long way for free beer. Posted by: Dude at August 17, 2007 8:42 AM |
