The MacRumors forums from October 23rd, 2001 - the day the iPod was announced. 6 pages of people ranting about what a disappointment the iPod announcement was, with very few people agreeing that the device was anything close to revolutionary. Everyone wanted a new Newton! Remember when PDAs were cool?

Also, Slashdot's iPod announcement from CmdrTaco: No wireless. Less space than a nomad. Lame.

All that hype for an MP3 player? Break-thru digital device? The Reality Distiortion Field™ is starting to warp Steve's mind if he thinks for one second that this thing is gonna take off.
