Next Great City: Philly, Really

National Geographic Traveler has named Philadelphia as the country's next great city. I am happy to see the city to get some press like this. I've come to love this city after being here for a couple of years. Once you get past a layer of grime it is a pretty amazing place with incredible potential.

We have one of the best metropolitan art museums in the country, unending American historical sites, the largest landscaped urban park in the world, the city is extremely bike friendly, next year will see the advent of city-wide WiFi, amazing restaurants, a bustling Italian market, a bustling Amish market, the 3rd largest Chinatown in the country, excellent nightlife ... the list goes on.

"This is is a city that has been greatly overlooked," said Keith Bellows, the magazine's editor-in-chief. "It's the last great opportunity for anyone who wants a terrific urban life in the Northeast."
