Sparkler Photos

These photos are awesome. They were done using a bulb exposure (manually keeping the shutter open). I have to imagine that someone must have stood behind the subjects and did the sparkler drawings while the shutter was open.

The photographer, Andrea Gingerich, is a Philadelphia native.

I've seen this trick with done with penlights but the sparklers are cooler.

Ahh, that is a good idea. I did it with a grill lighter too. Would have played more but my battery died.

The name ones are flipped. You can kind of tell by my shirt (it's blurry) because the wording and Apple logo are backwards.
