Dans le Noir

Translated, "In the Dark", Dans le Noir is a Paris restaurant where the blind serve the blind. A primarily blind staff serves up food in a restaurant that is devoid of light. The restaurant aims to give the those with the gift of sight the experience of dining without sight. The servers guide you to your table and help with advice on how to accomplish tasks like filling your water glass in complete darkness. On the culinary side, the lack of sight is supposed to enhance your other senses such as smell, touch and taste while dining.
The website is not fully translated, so I found some more information here.

Nah. I agree with Jerry Seinfeld: Jerry: What do you think the worst part of being blind is? Posted by: ryan at March 17, 2005 2:26 PM |

Ah, but it would be an experience difficult to replicate. Just bring a keychain light. Posted by: polamex at March 17, 2005 7:30 PM |
