The Village

If you haven't seen it yet, M. Night Shyamalan's The Village is my rental pick of the week. I always expect a lot from Shymalan's films, but was hesitant going in to this one. It lives up to his name. Excellent.

I found out the hard way that you shouldn't consulte IMDB BEFORE you see a movie. That site totally ruined the ending for me. Otherwise I thought it was a pretty cool idea. Even if a little slow in parts. Posted by: jt at January 17, 2005 1:46 PM |

Yeah, I purposely didn't post a link to IMDB for that very reason. Thats sucks dude, it would have been 10x better had you not known the ending. Reminds me of when I saw the last 10 minutes of Usual Suspects before ever seeing the movie. When I finally saw it all the way through it was only an ok film because the ending had been ruined. The plot twist crossed my mind while I was watching the movie, so that kind of sucked. It sucks to watch a movie expecting one. Where is Unbreakable 2?? Posted by: polamex at January 17, 2005 7:29 PM |

For some reason I didn't even think about how there was going to be a plot twist at the end... maybe because Signs didn't really have one. At least, not a good one. Posted by: ryan at January 17, 2005 7:33 PM |

Yeah I would have enojoyed it a lot more had that been the fact. I saw it in the theaters and pretty much everyone was like "the twist, the twist!" at the time. Posted by: polamex at January 17, 2005 7:36 PM |

I think I either knew the ending, or guessed is half way through the move. But it was slightly spoiled because I had an idea of what the twist was. Posted by: adam m at January 17, 2005 9:13 PM |

Whats Funny, is that I kept making jokes like "How do they have treatments for OCD or blindness in the 19th century" right up until the picture of the 70's. Posted by: John G at January 19, 2005 12:04 PM |
