Student claims plow driver buried car on purpose
Damage to vehicle estimated at $2,000, EMU student saysOn Friday evening, Kayla Hartford parked her SUV at Eastern Plaza shopping center in Ypsilanti and decided to leave it there overnight because of the heavy snowfall.
When she returned Saturday after the storm, the Eastern Michigan University student found it buried in a gigantic mound of snow, with only the ski rack on the roof showing. She believes she may have been the victim of a mean-spirited snowplow driver.
She said the damage to her vehicle has been estimated at $2,000, due to dents caused by the compressed snow packed against her vehicle.
...
Debbie Dalian, who works at the Subway restaurant in the plaza, said she saw the snow plow truck burying Hartford's vehicle.
"It was very bad," Dalian said. "That was a horrible thing to do."

I wish we had plows. Posted by: Emily at January 26, 2005 3:02 PM |

Also, "he should have had me towed"? Then she probably would have been pissed that she had to pay to get her car out of impound. I wish I had the balls to leave my car illegally parked overnight during a heavy snowstorm and them state publically that the plowing company should have had me towed before doing their job. I know it's in the humor category and everything, but this is exactly the kind of thing that gets right under my skin. Posted by: Emily at January 26, 2005 3:06 PM |

Wait, so who are you mad at? I would agree that her car should have been towed beforehand. Kind of like on street cleaning day when they come around and tow everyone's car. I imagine they do so because they don't want to deal with insurance companies coming at the city for damages done to vehicles by the street cleaning machines.
