Fox gets pwn3d by surprisingly critical guest

Brigitte Quinn, MSNBC anchor turned Fox News Live anchor, is taken off-guard by a guest who was apparently supposed to hype the inaugural today but instead used the air time to criticize Bush's lavish spending on his 10 parties. A heated exchange follows, and a hasty boot as Fox is left to lick its wounds. A joy to watch. Requires Flash

I don't mean you specifically Ryan, I just realized that's how it sounds. It just seems to me that in many people's (leftists) minds that Bush simply can't do anything right. If he did everything the dems wanted him to do he would still be maligned simply because he is a Republican in a time of war. Open your minds people. Don't be such bigots. I don't think Bush planned these parties out himself or anything, so in regards to today's festivities I am less critical of Bush and am critical of Washington in general. I don't even think Bush likes these big ordeals, he always looks bored. I agree with the line of thought that during a time of war we should have toned down the celebrations a bit. A good thing to keep in mind is that this is the first inauguration since September 11th, so the security expenses inflated the cost a lot (20%?). Also, from some random article: "According to Michael Nelson's 'Guide to the Presidency', George H.W. Bush's 1989 inauguration cost $30 million, Bill Clinton's 1993 inauguration ran $25 million, and George W. Bush's 2001 ceremony cost around $40 million. This year's costs are expected to run closer to $50 million." Which is funny, because I heard someone on American Morning today say that the Nixon's inauguration was the last most expensive one at $4 million, which in 2005 money is only like $20 million. Hmmm... On a side note, I've been rereading the people's history of the united states again, and man, all the vietnam stuff so closely parallels iraq 2, it's kind of eerie. Take this down... *MY PREDICTION::* George W. Bush will be involved in a major scandle his second term. Posted by: polamex at January 20, 2005 10:54 PM |

Define major scandle. I mean, very few presidents seem to make it through office without major scandles ; ) Posted by: ryan at January 21, 2005 12:51 AM |

My point exactly. :) Watergate, Iran/Contra, Monica... Posted by: polamex at January 21, 2005 9:50 AM |
