Apply Current, Boost Brain Power

Sending a weak electrical impulse through the front of a person's head can boost verbal skills by as much as 20 percent, according to a new study by the U.S. National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke.
In the study, researchers at the institute asked 103 volunteers to recall as many words that begin with a particular letter as possible. The researchers then passed a 2-milliamp current -- one-tenth of what is needed to power a small LED (light-emitting diode) light -- through electrodes attached to the surfaces of the volunteers' foreheads. When the volunteers were quizzed again while the current was still on, this time with a different letter, they were able to come up with 20 percent more words on average.

Actualy, there was a doctor back in the 40s sometime (i think) that developed a way to cure many diseases, including cancer, via electrical impulses. It had something to do with determining the frequency of the diseased cells and tuning the current to the same frequency (maybe with a 90 degree phase shift to cancel it out ?). I believe his name was Dr. Riffe. Anyway, my dad's homeopathic doctor tried to emulate the technique and i believe he used it on him but didnt really have a lot of success. The scary part about the story is that once the AMA found out they burned down Dr Riffe's lab and he and all his researchers turned up missing or dying of obscure diseases. None of his notes remained and therefore no one really knows how it worked. Of course, this is all second hand info, Ill try and find a more factual account and post it.
