WHITEHORSE - Voters in Alaska will decide Tuesday whether to make their state the first in the U.S. to legalize the sale, possession or use of marijuana by adults. Alaska already allows legal possession of small amounts of marijuana by adults.

Ann Arbor passed medical marijuana with over 70%.

What are the details on what legal use will be? Of particular interest, what medical conditions must exist to warrant such a perscription?

I remember reading an article a few years ago when medical marijuana was legal in California about how easy it was to get a perscription by just looking through your local paper for ads by doctors who were promoting their pro-marijuana stance. In the article the author went to one of these doctors, complained about migranes and hours later he had a bag of government issued marijuana in his posession.

You can read the language here.

Also, not only does this waive all fines/fees when proof of recommendation by a doctor is presented, the maximum fine for everyone else has been set at $100, where before it was "not less than $100" for the third or subsequent offense. Already in Ann Arbor marijuana law violations are civil infractions, meaning a $25 (up from $5) ticket and no arrest.

It doesn't say what legal uses are, just that a doctor's (health care provider, etc) recommendation is needed. It's up to the doctor, not the law, which is the way it should be, if we are under the assumption that doctors know more about your health needs than the lawyers.

This could be who you're referring to...

Nah, I don't think that is it. For some reason I specifically remember reading it on an airplane.
