Open Source Solar Scooter

MONTREAL - A couple of entrepreneurs in Montreal are teaching people how to build their own solar-powered scooters by making the instructions freely available on the internet.

Initially designed with $600,000 (assumed to be in CDN), these can be built for $1,600. But they're ugly. But that's why they gave away the design, so anybody could come up with their own look, hopefully something that more gracefully incorporates the solar panels. I'd love to see fleets of these on the streets of Montreal but without a serious amount of capital behind refining, manufacturing, and marketing these I'm sure this will remain a novelty.

$600,000 and they came up with that ugly piece of shit? Sounds like they smoked most of that $600k.
