GOP tries to block the black vote in Philadelphia

REPUBLICAN OPERATIVES working to re-elect President Bush submitted last-minute requests in Philadelphia on Friday to relocate 63 polling places.

Bush's Pennsylvania campaign staff filed the requests, using the names of two Republicans running for the U.S. Congress and seven Republican ward leaders.

Of the 63 requests for changes, 53 are in political divisions where the population of white voters is less than 10 percent.

Bob Lee, voter registration administrator for the City Commission, said the requests appear to be "discriminatory" and were filed too late to be eligible for a hearing on Wednesday.

"They're trying to suppress the vote," Lee said of Republicans.

If that's true, it should put a very small dent in the millions of fraudulant votes John Kerry will gain on election day. From throusands of returned voter registration cards in Ohio to Marry Poppins and Dick tracey being registered there, to crack being offered to people to register voters, to people getting absentee ballots they didn't request sent to them under slightly different names marked "Kerry" already, to 600,000 ballots being ordered by the Dem. mayor of Milwaukee when there are only 425,000 people of voting age in the city.... I mean, I could go on and on here. I am so disgusted at the way the media is letting the dems get away with all of this crap. I saw an article today that says Bush's support has doubled among blacks since the last election, so if they want to cry "suppression" that's cool. We're "suppressing" our own votes too, I guess. Did you see the memo that the dems in Colorado put out last week? If there are no examples of voter suppression yet on election day "launch a pre-emptive strike"? My prediction...the race will be close and Kerry will cry "suppression" (evidence or not) and declare victory and start making national security appointments before Bush even concedes...why not? The media will let him do it. Hell, he could be 10 points behind on election day, declare victory and the media would be like, "President-elect Kerry". Ha! What a joke this process is. Bush is fucked either way...the fraud or the media...so, congrats all!!!!

Fuck man, where are they giving out the crack? I'd gladly vote Bush for a ten dollar rock. ;)

Gerrymandering is nothing new. But when you start turning people away from polling places and not telling people where to go, providing a map, or the number of the BofE, or telling them that registering college students is a FELONY, or purging them from the voting rosters, yeah, there's a little bit of a problem there.

Whoa! Dude, do you wear a tinfoil hat when you sleep to keep the Democrats from brainwashing you with their space lasers? ; )

I'm just waiting for tomorrow's conspiracy theory of the day. It's like this site is writing for the x-files. "Republicans put bombs in newborns heads to destroy the crack-heads ability to vote as SUV runs into abortion clinic destroying any possiblity for same-sex marriage while Bush just laughs". Sometimes I wonder. I just wonder.

Registering to vote when you are registered in another state (as many college students do) and then knowingly VOTING in both states IS a felony. It's a massive problem and you can't tell me the registrants give a shit whether the students are voting absentee in their homewtown or not.

You guys are so funny...especially Hugh. What a great baseball game too.
