Bush Campaign Site blocked for all non US residents

The BBC News are reporting that George W Bush's re-election website (don't bother if you aren't in the USA) is blocked to people accessing it from outside the USA. Netcraft spotted the change on Monday, and have a report on the matter.

Well, I thought I would go to both candidates' sites and review their platforms before reasonably choosing a candidate for President. I read all of the Kerry site and just got a "You don't have Authorization" for Bush's. Eine Schade, er hat eine Wahl verloren:(

If you chose to move to a foreign country permanantly, you should not be voting in the U.S. election. Just my opinion.

I think it's great...it helps keep foreign nationals from attempting to influence OUR election. I'm sure all kinds of donations are pouring into the Kerry website from communist party officials of many nations.

Hugh...like you're undecided. :o)

By the way you guys...I gotta tell you something hilarious.

I'm sure you all remember the post I did about the giant shit runoff that ended up in lake Michigan because of the incompetance (and lack of infrastructure)? Well it's apparently now being blamed on President Bush in an add by some environmental PAC!! I haven't seen the add but I guess there is a little girl holding a glass of water with a pipe emitting brown sludge going into it, and a picture of President Bush next to the pipe. HAHAHA!!

The amazing thing is, the only govenrment agency that has taken legal action based on the dumping is the EPA...controlled by the Bush Administration!

It was so damn funny when Ryan calculated that a turd like 2 times the size of the Sears Tower was dumped into Lake Michigan!!

That's so funny! I'm guilty of the same thing.

For example, I was at BW3 (a hot wing restaraunt) the other week getting some wings with friends, and one of them found like 15 sauce-coated feathers still on one of their wings. Yum!

Anyway, being the the non-Bush administration supporter that I am, the first thing I did was blame it on Bush for relaxing farm health codes, which in turn saves farm congolmerates money.

I have no idea if that's true. :)

Dude:
Yeah, moving to a foreign country for a few years to see the world and further my career should exempt me from voting ;)

I said permanantly, didn't I?

I believe if you read the events surrounding the shut off of non-US IPs was for a security measure by the webhosting company that the Bush Re-Election campaign hired to keep the website up for the majority of voters. I believe there were many DDOS attacks on the server. I'd shut it down to ensure that my primary audience had access.

Great. Preemptively DoS yourself by denying service to anyone (including Americans) coming from an address that could be non-Stateside.
