My favorite album is 10 years old today. On September 13, 1994, Built to Spill released "There's Nothing Wrong With Love."

Picking a favorite song.. wow, that is tough. 'Car' ranks high on my list...

"I wanna see it untame itself and break its owner."

Brilliant.

Collectively this album is as close to perfect as it gets for me.

'I wanna see it when you find out what comets, stars, and moons are all about'

'I wanna see it when you get stoned on a cloudy breezy desert afternoon'

Yeah. Great song. Great album. I remember when I first heard it. Me and Hugh were skiing in Canada and I thought 'big dipper' was the shit. I thought doug was saying 'fifty percent to me' when it was really 'big dipper said to me'. Damn I was stupid.

Next to Soul Coughing's 'El Ocho' this is my favorite album by far. Bevis and Butthead made fun of 'in the morning'. Those bastards.

the best song on that album is "reasons" just that first line!! aaah.

"come through me. you arrive and i'm on fire"

or

"stay with me until i die, there's nothing else i wanna try"

i wish i could find this really funny doug martsch interview but i forget what skate magazine it was in...all it talked about was how he played basketball all the time and video games with his son. anyone read this??

Doug is the coolest. He always looks like a dad at shows, wearing sweatpants and an old t-shirt. That is the new face of hip.

that trip was the shit Hugh. Although it can't compare to our trip to Toronto! That was damn funny! Motown music and drunk in public and of course getting kicked out of Lyric in Kitchner. We gotta take another trip to that crazy ass country. I actually talked to people who thought Budweiser was better than Canadian beer! Maybe people just like imports. Either way we have to go back to Hugh's cottage! Let's party Canuck style!
