Using time-lapse photography, Project Rebirth is currently documenting the day-by-day rebuilding of the World Trade Center site in New York City.
Six 35mm time-lapse motion picture cameras, situated around the site since the six-month anniversary of 9/11, will continue to shoot one frame of film every five minutes, seven days a week, until this historic reconstruction is completed. This technology will enable the public to view the entire reconstruction within a twenty-minute time span.

Speaking of the new construction... Rem Koolhaas, who designed the new Seattle library and is one of the hottest architects right now, has an article in the August issue of Wired. It talks about how he turned down working on a proposal for the new WTC in order to work on a design for a new building in Beijing. Whereas in America, 9/11 has put the fear into us about building new tall buildings, in China and the rest of Asia, they still haven't let up, with way more skyscrapers than North America. Haven't the terrorists won? Posted by: agent1073 at September 8, 2004 8:53 PM |
