...Bob Wold, a 51-year-old construction firm owner who suffered from debilitating cluster headaches, which are rare but brutal, until four years ago when he tried psilocybin to treat them. ...he was in the midst of choosing between three surgeries for his cluster headaches, each of which would have cost about $35,000. One involved a gamma knife to cut into his brain; the other two required holes drilled in his skull. Given those options, psilocybin didn't seem so radical.About cluster headaches: "The pain of cluster headache is perhaps the most severe known to humans with female patients describing each attack as being worse than childbirth."
On the one hand, we could let Americans try out in a controlled environment a mushroom that thousands upon thousands of other Americans take recreationally every year without incident and which have been used religiously for generations. On the other hand, we could tell them they just have to bear multiple episodes of pain worse than childbirth every few days under threat of incarceration.

Wow. Those headaches sound awful. In the "procurring" section of his website, clusterbusters.com he says that mushrooms and lcd can be obtained legally in Holland. This is not true. Those substances are still illegal in Holland, their sale is just overlooked. Posted by: ryan at September 29, 2004 8:09 AM |

I think you are right.. but for all intents and purposes, aren't shrooms, like pot, soft drugs and therefore 'decriminalized'? You can open buy it in established storefronts. I am going there in November. I will find out firsthand. :) Posted by: agent1073 at September 30, 2004 4:34 PM |
