GOOG is due to hit the market in the next hour or so. The initial price has been set at $85. Any estimates as to where it will close for the day?

I really have no idea what this stock is going to do, but I think $85 still might be a bit steep for this market. I'm going to say it ends the day at $79. I may revise that once shares start changing hands. ; ) Posted by: ryan at August 19, 2004 11:31 AM |

Hmmmm, oil is pricey and Google needs crude to feed their robots. But their robots are smart, so I'm going to say it'll close at $91. Posted by: polamex at August 19, 2004 11:43 AM |

A few trades just went off when they shouldn't have. Google is still on hold, but the trades that were processed put Google at $140. Posted by: ryan at August 19, 2004 11:47 AM |

It's getting up there man, 22%. Sigh, I feel like I'm missing out. Too bad it had to go public the day BEFORE I get paid. :) Posted by: polamex at August 19, 2004 12:59 PM |

Nah, yer not missing out. It opened at $100.15, it's not like anyone was paying $85 for it. Are we the only two people who use this site now? ; ) Posted by: ryan at August 19, 2004 1:23 PM |

Yeah, I'd buy shares of John Kerry instead. Posted by: ryan at August 19, 2004 2:16 PM |
