Happy Birthday Disjointed

On Saturday this site will be 1 year old. You can catch the first post here. We have done pretty well for ourselves. A year ago we logged about 80 unique visitors for the month, last month we had over 15,000 (55,000 files, 80,000 hits). For a year in review I thought I would share the top 5 search terms that brought people to disjointed for each month over the past year. Note there are no statistics for August and September 2003 as the site was still on http://blog.ractor.org those days. Click continue to read on.

I think it's really cool how you allow any author to post on any topic. I am absolutely amazed that I am still here on a regular basis. I suspect that I'm starting to like you guys (and ladies)...who knew? Great experiment! Posted by: Dude at August 5, 2004 2:10 PM |

Haha, thanks! I realized a year ago that only a very small number of people would ever be interested in a blog that only I post to. I'd like to see more authors, but I think a lot of traffic is one time shots and syndication. Some people are just too shy as well I guess. Posted by: ryan at August 5, 2004 2:25 PM |

Ryan, can you e-mail me instructions on how to post a photo again? I lost the ones Polomaex sent me. Posted by: Dude at August 5, 2004 2:30 PM |

I tried to stay away. Lord I tried. I couldn't. This is a great site where any opinion is (not necessarily welcome :) but certainly tolerated. Kudos R-Dogg on one happy year. Posted by: JT at August 5, 2004 11:54 PM |

One suggestion. I love the new slogan. But maybe (I know that's how Dude originally wrote it) we should fix the spelling of 'blatantly'. :) Posted by: agent1073 at August 6, 2004 12:16 PM |

Lisa: Almost done. Just lay still. Posted by: polamex at August 6, 2004 12:39 PM |

Agent - thanks for calling me out. I will be more 'blatantly' vigilant about my spelling in the future! Posted by: Dude at August 6, 2004 1:52 PM |

I never would have noticed it, which is no suprise as according to the GRE my verbal skills are lacking. Posted by: ryan at August 6, 2004 4:56 PM |

Do you remember our collective confrontation with that one guy? I can't remember his name but we devoted at least three posts to him. In fact I think Tomo fooled me once with a post. The guy was pissed about something, it was great. I can't remember his name, but I think you should have a seperate category devoted to him. Brian maybe? Posted by: JT at August 9, 2004 1:20 AM |

I still think there should be a hate mail section. That's got to be funny as hell. Posted by: JT at August 9, 2004 2:11 AM |
