My (and Polamex & Tomo's) college graduation commencement speaker, Ohio State University marketing professor Roger Blackwell, was indicted today on 48 criminal charges stemming from an insider trading deal in 1999.
Blackwell, four individuals and a business partnership were indicted on a total of 48 criminal charges related to an insider-trading scheme involving Kellogg Corp.'s 1999 acquisition of Worthington Foods. Blackwell was on the local company's board of directors.
Blackwell, 64, one of the best-known faculty members at OSU, faces up to 10 years in prison and $1 million in fines if convicted. Charges against Blackwell include 21 counts of insider trading and three counts of lying to investigators.

I had him for marketing 651... does this mean he won't be teaching 652? Posted by: John G at September 1, 2004 1:10 PM |

I encountered Blackwell briefly in 1977. I found him to be intelligent, and incisive about markets. However, he was also vain, winded, consumeristic, materialistic and condescending. He's a narcissist, with a boxing as a hobby. Very big deal. His brand of hedonism and self-promotion should not be the goals of The Ohio State University. Blackwell should be suspended from teaching immediately. If found guilty, his name should be stripped from the on campus Blackwell Hotel. I look forward to the day he become somebody's pretty boy in a federal penitentiary. Posted by: Joe Schmoe at September 3, 2004 1:46 AM |

Joe Schmoe's remarks are offensive and uncalled for. You are obviously jealous of his hard work and success and petty to boot. Posted by: Not a Joe Schmoe Shmuck at September 29, 2004 10:15 AM |
