What really happened on Flight 93

The 9/11 commission report reveals who was at the controls before Flight 93 crashed.
"Is that it? Shall we finish it off?"
"No. Not yet. When they all come, we finish it off."
"In the cockpit. If we don"t, we"ll die."
"Allah is the greatest! Allah is the greatest!"
"Is that it? I mean, shall we put it down?"
"Yes, put it in it, and pull it down."

Hmph.. I was really convinced we shot that plane down. Posted by: ryan at July 23, 2004 12:41 PM |

They still could have been shot down even if the transcript wasn't faked. Guess it doesn't really matter in the grand scheme of things... Posted by: Leighton at July 23, 2004 12:52 PM |

Ryan, I am still pretty sure the plane was shot down myself. There was enough time between when the order was given by the President authorizing a shoot-down if the commanders deemed it necessary... and I think considering the events of that day up to that moment, most people involved would have considered it the prudent (albeit gutwrenching) thing to do. It would also make sense for the sake of national morale at that time to withold the information, thought I see no reason (other than perhaps preserving the legacy of the victims) to not release that information now. I certainly do not object to the principle behind shooting the plane down. It is horrible to be faced with such a decision, but we were left with few other options. I'm not big on conspiracy theories, but a lot of hard evidence points to the airliner either being shot down or a bomb detonating in the aircraft. I think the most compelling evidence in my mind is the spread of debris from the crash over an area of 8 miles, including one of the engines landing far from the crash site. While I can see your point about perserving national morale, I would still rather have the truth. Posted by: ryan at July 23, 2004 1:54 PM |

...and the truth IS out there. GOD I miss that show. What really sucks is I didn't get into it until the last couple seasons and now I end up all blearly eyes from staying up to watch the re-runs on TBS (or TNT whichever it is). Posted by: Dude at July 23, 2004 4:27 PM |

Hah, and the last couple of seasons were so terrible compared to the rest of the series. Posted by: ryan at July 23, 2004 4:40 PM |

So when are you going to add the phrase "The most blatently Communist site on the net" after the "disjointed.org" at the top?? Posted by: Dude at July 23, 2004 6:19 PM |

Yeah, I should come up with a graphic for it. It says it in the window title on the main page now. -Ryan Posted by: ryan at July 23, 2004 11:02 PM |
