Scans uncover secrets of the womb

Ok Ryan, this is not showing dismembered babies...but something even better.
Professor Campbell has perfected a technique which not only produces detailed 3D images, but records foetal movement in real time.
He says his work has been able to show for the first time that the unborn baby engages in complex behaviour from an early stage of its development. At 12 weeks (when abortions are legal for any reason), a child can be moving, smiling...even "walking" in the womb.
By the way, this is from the BBC website, hardly a right-wing news source.
P.S...can somebody e-mail me and tell me how to post a picture here so someone can see it before they link??

Those scans are pretty incredible. I'd love to see some videos of the movement. As for abortion issue, regardless of ones stance, I don't see how anyone can argue against this being human life at 12 weeks. Posted by: ryan at June 29, 2004 9:22 PM |

You know how in cows you can cut open their guts and install doors/windows so you can check out their insides whenever you want? What if you could do that to your pregnant wife. Posted by: agent1073 at June 29, 2004 10:10 PM |

Considering 12 weeks is about 3 months, you're still talking first trimester. Oftentimes, women can't get reliable pregnancy tests before this time, unless they go to a doctor after 2 missed periods (doctors will often casually dismiss one missed period). Just something to thing about. Posted by: Emily at June 30, 2004 8:48 AM |

Something to thing about, but also something to THINK about. Posted by: Emily at June 30, 2004 8:49 AM |

Ryan, there is a link just to the right of the article that shows the actual BBC story. There is video there if you want to watch it! Posted by: Dude at June 30, 2004 10:32 AM |
