This article coins the term FrankenArt (yeah, a little lame) to describe new artforms that are a remix of previous works of art.

The article caught my eye as it talks about DJ Danger Mouse's remix of Jay-Z's Black Album with the Beatles' White Album. Black + White = The Grey Album. If you haven't given it a listen it is well worth a try. You can download all the tracks from the link.

Another interesting project is artist Arcangel's Mario Bros hack. He did some code modification to the game and hardwired it to an original Mario Bros NES cartridge. His code deletes everything but the sky and the clouds. Arcangel blows on the cartridge, pops it into a NES hooked up to a projector and boom, his work is in a gallery.
