A Somali native living in Ohio has been charged with plotting with other al Qaeda operatives to blow up a Columbus-area shopping mall, according to an indictment unsealed Monday.

The four-count indictment, returned by a grand jury in Columbus, Ohio, charges that Nuradin Abdi, 32, conspired with admitted al Qaeda member Iyman Faris and others to detonate a bomb at the unidentified shopping mall after he obtained military-style training in Ethiopia

Google News Links. Ashcroft to hold a press conference soon.

Youch. That is so messed up! I guess Columbus is about as soft of a target as it gets...

Tell me about it. And I thought I was the one living in a terror target.

Thankfully, they've had the man in custody since November and have just chosen today to disclose his indictment. And of course add the usual caveats about an overeager DOJ. But the question is, is this a plot thwarted or a tip of the terror cell iceberg?

Jee.. I was in a Columbus mall last weekend. I can't really say that I'd miss it if went away..

One has to wonder whether this is all just a political stunt more than a real threat.

I just realized that London doesn't have as big a bullseye on it as I originally thought. There are too many foreigners and muslims here. Bombing a bus, tube, or train here would kill more of them, than British, Americans, or anyone else.

We were so manipulated. Swing state much?

A**croft decided to announce the (antiquated) plot the day after the Post published this memo.
