Sony Hi-MD

I've always been a fan of the minidisc. I think it is one of the most underrated devices out there. In January Sony announced the Hi-MD format. The Hi-MD format uses 1Gb disks that are capable of storing up to 45 hours of audio per disc. Sony has about 4 portable players ready to hit our shores over the next couple of months. With prices as low as $189 for the player and media running $7 per gigabyte, Sony has created a very viable iPod alternative.
