For Hockey Nuts Only

I thought some of you might be interested to know that tickets to the World Cup of Hockey are still available.
Some of the games for the North American pool are in Minneapolis (3 hours from me) but I think my wife would kill me if I spent the 700-some dollars for the four game pool.
Anyway, if any of you are closer to Toronto, the other North American games are there, so I'm sure you can navigate there from the link I provided. Pricey, but worth it for the hockey fan if you have the time and money (which I don't).

Still waiting for the Stanley Cup to come to town this year. Go Flyers! Posted by: ryan at May 18, 2004 8:23 PM |

Caught the end of the game last night, Ryan. It would have helped Philly's cause if they would have actually tried in the last two minutes... Posted by: Dude at May 19, 2004 10:21 AM |

They played a really strong 3rd period, I have to imagine they were running out of gas by the 2 minute mark. Khabibulin is a damn fine goalie, we just couldn't get anything by him in the 3rd. I really don't think Philadelphia will lose at home in game 6. We are still in there. Posted by: ryan at May 19, 2004 11:41 AM |

Yeah, I agree. Good luck in game 7, though. I do like Tampa Bay, the style they play is an awesome throwback to the days when the game was more open. That said, I'm pulling for you because of the fans in Philly. I can't imagine the Tampa Bay fans truly appreciating what it is they are playing for. Plus, up until 1997 I could identify with long-suffering TRUE hockey fans. Posted by: Dude at May 19, 2004 12:28 PM |

I like Tampa because if they win the cup Ryan owes me money. But if Philly wins, I owe him money. MicroMan owes us both. (he didn't have it on him last night...) Posted by: polamex at May 19, 2004 12:40 PM |

Haha. As a newcomer to Philadelphia I can't say that I've been waiting all my life to see the Flyers take the cup. I was really was hoping for a repeat of the 97 cup this year, although it wouldn't have been quite the same... that and I would have gotten my ass kicked here for supporting Detroit. I'd like to see Philadelphia and Calgary go at it, the two real hockey clubs left in the playoffs. Posted by: ryan at May 19, 2004 12:53 PM |

"We want the money, Lebowski," (said in a strange accent). You have officially gotten me started. Are you thinking of going to the third annual Lebowski Fest in June? Posted by: Dude at May 19, 2004 1:10 PM |
