Windows Remix

It's well known that the Microsoft Windows "sound" was made by Brian Eno. But what music lies waiting in the other famous Windows sounds like chimes and ding.wav? Some of us merely ponder while others beat on SNDREC32.EXE until they come up with this Flash movie. Hosted at MilkandCookies.

Did (s)he really do this on the fly? Posted by: polamex at April 12, 2004 3:54 PM |

I don't see how all the SNDREC32.EXEs could have been played at the same time and you see them doing things after the mouse cursor has moved on. I think it just means that all sounds were recorded straight outta SNDREC32.EXE with no further post-processing besides arranging them. Posted by: agent1073 at April 12, 2004 6:03 PM |

The playing sound while not clicking things made me think that too, but sometimes the clicked them a bunch of times in a row to play them over and over. I'm doubtful that it was live, but man that's be cool. Posted by: polamex at April 12, 2004 6:48 PM |
