Having a magnet implanted in Todd Huffman's finger hasn't just allowed him to pick up metal objects. It has given him a new sense through which to encounter the modern electronic world. With a simple magnet he has joined the rank of cyborgs.

I wonder if you would feel more or less the same thing if you just taped one to your finger. Posted by: polamex at February 28, 2004 1:07 PM |

You can feel magnetic forces with a magnet taped to your finger but one of his goals was that it was invisible both to himself and everybody else.. out of sight, out of mind. Contacts rather than glasses? It might make a cool ring though. Also, maybe the feeling is totally different when it's inside rather than outside your finger. I hope he never is lost in the wilderness somewhere and then has to hold a compass to rely on directions. That would suck. Posted by: MicroMan at February 28, 2004 5:49 PM |

He'd be fucked if his finger got stuck to something like this. Posted by: ryan at February 28, 2004 10:31 PM |
