Crazy Moms

Some guy posted photos of his mother's house that is cluttered with more shit than one could imagine. There are about 5M worth of photos to that link, so it takes a little while to load. Ignore the "YOU HAVE NOT REGISTERED" message and just scroll down.
"My mother is insane. Like, one of those ladies you see on the local news insane. Since it's inevitably going to come up I'll get out of the way that I am too, but at least I take a full dose of my medication. I've been meaning to make this thread for about the last year, but the longer I waited the more interesting the situation became. Also, I'm incredibly lazy. Case in point, these pictures are about three weeks old. Anyway, lets take a tour of our house."

As far as trash houses go, that one's pretty sane. The city wouldn't be able to condemn it, for example. I've heard of cases where small children had been abandoned by their parents to be taken care of by their older siblings... nothing ever leaving the house, bathtubs becoming unusable because they were filled with trash, cat poop everywhere, human poop too. Actually, I think that's the main difference, whether or not there is feces everywhere. Obviously, this person's mom is crazy, but I believe there are enough people like her that this is an actual classified mental disorder. A lot of people get stuck in this mental trap where they fully realize that things are fucked up but feel completely helpless in doing anything about it, so they just keep piling it on. You get used to living in it, and when you're accumulating trash one small piece at a time you don't notice how extreme your living conditions are.. it's all so gradual. Hmmm... I rember your apartment being pretty cluttery last time I visited. Could it be that this has happened to you, Tomo? Are you reaching out for help? Posted by: ryan at February 9, 2004 8:29 PM |

I thought I was being subtle. Apparently, not subtle enough. Posted by: agent1073 at February 9, 2004 8:47 PM |
