Indie is the new goth. back in the day (early 90's) the happening thing for indy folk was the goth scene. Insisting on being called vampires and other literary characters. Now it's all been replaced by scarfs and horn-rimmed glasses. I long for the day when we can all go nude with socks and be super cool like these hipsters.

I think the happening thing for indie kids was still indie back in the early 90s. The happening thing for goth kids was still goth.

Scenes don't change much -- they just get new young hipsters wearing the uniform of their particular scene.
