The failure of Segway has many causes and the price is probably the biggest. Halving the cost makes it ... (thinking...) ... twice as affordable. But you can buy motorized wheelchairs off Ebay for even less! And they have cupholders. He says some pretty damning things about the concept in general, like how tiring it is to ride. Maybe it needs some autopilot. And a seat. And a goddamn third wheel. And a cupholder.

Hell, Slashdot covered it back in September.. We're not always the 0day breaking news source but I suspect this page was featured somewhere big in the past day or so because I've seen it pop up a lot again.
