Airboard 2000

Fuck a Segway! Hoverboards are way cooler.. in theory. In practice, there is the Airboard 2000 [video], brought to you by a company named Arbortech in the Australia. The device itself looks cool albeit it's not the size of a skateboard a la Back To The Future II. However, they have pictures of Hot Chicks riding them. I am reminded of the Hot Chicks in Dude, Where's My Car.

Cons: loud, runs on gas, doesn't run on all surfaces (water being a surface), expensive (price: $14,999.95), not very fast (max of 15 mph). Before one can run, one must first walk. Also, maybe they should update their product name because "Airboard 2000" just doesn't sound very advanced in the year 2004. Could this one day lead to a viable lightweight intracity commuter vehicle? [via ambisinister]
