To Shape The Future

Posted by tomo at 02:09 AM in . | 4 Comments

My first experience with programming computers consisted of copying lines of code from a library book into a BASIC interpreter that came with my computer. I dream of the day that genetic engineering is as accessible to futurekind. We can almost pretend that day has arrived with Discovery Kids Ultimate Labs DNA Explorer, one of Popular Science's Best of What's New. Fuck Bush. I can't wait until some 10-year old child genius from Zimbabwe cures the AIDS for us with Capcom Super DNA Splice'n'Dice Kit III E.X. Alpha + Omega.

What was your first computer? I had a Commodore Vic-20 when I was a kid.

Ahh.. PEEK and POKE.

I grew up in a technologically poor and backwards family and so my first computer was a 286. This prevents me from joining in on reminiscing on pre-DOS computing. God, I'm so lame. :[ This is why I hope that Zimbabweans will be able to afford Super SND Kit VI Turbo Galactix Edition when it comes out next year.

Well, if it makes you feel better I went from having a Vic-20 back when I was 3 to having a 486sx/33 when I was 15. It was quite a transition.
