Longest Line

An Apple store opened up in Ginza, Tokyo. Some people made a pilgrimage to this gigantic Kaaba. No, seriously, there are more people standing in this line than a lot of Michigan towns.

It seems that every pic I see of Tokyo has like a bajillion people standing in line somewhere. EGM (yeah Im a game dork) periodically has pics of Japanese game stores being swamped by people. Every time Nintendo or Konami or Capcom releases a new game the people start to pile up. One thing is for sure, the Japanese love technology and thank god for that. If it weren't for this love we would not have the incredible games and new technologies we charish. I think this illustrates a quality unique to Japan. They are able to take cultural and technological experiences from outside their home-land and make it completely and utterly their own. I think most cultures would resist such a change, but the Japanese embrace change and convert it to a positive contribution. That is Japan's strength, Incredible character and cultural maturity not seen in the west or maybe in all of history.

This pic also shows how much people in general love technology. While I focused on Japan previously, people all over the world are enthralled with tech. New gadgets always impress but it takes a true innovation to inspire a person to wait days on end to buy something. Of course there are exceptions to that rule, for example: stand in line for 4 days to see the 'Phantom Menace'. That's just dumb.

they were probably standing there to get a free tshirt. and i thought a line about the length of a block was too long to wait for a tshirt at the jersey apple store. no tshirt is *that* good.

What if the shirts were scratch & sniff shirts that smelled like Apples?
