first acupuncture session

When I left the clinic, I felt totally allergy free, but that is starting to fade. I’m supposed to take some herbs each day and then go back next week for more pin sticking. Today, the pins left no mark in my face or feet, but the area around them in my arms in hands were red an puffy for about 2 hrs. Apparently, that was because ‘wind’ was leaving from my arms.

Is there any discomfort when the pins are in? How many pins are we talking about? Besides sticking you with pins, what else takes place?

I don't trust anybody who after poking holes in me then tells me to watch out for "escaping winds" without proper wind capturing devices/bandages. I have heard that acupuncture does "something", though.

I have problems with other kinds of 'wind'.

Ryan: they asked my lots of questions, took my pulse and looked at my tongue. I had 21 pin (6 in my face, 1 in my chest, 6 in each arm\wrist\hand area, and 1 in each foot). The pins didn't hurt, but they weren't exactly comfortable either. The area around some pins would become warm and soothing, because chi is moving.

Tomo: I think wind is supposed to be a metaphor as is chi.

JT: Acupuncture can help with that, too

hahaha thats great. Seriously though, I think I should give it a try because nothing else seems to work. How much did it cost?

i go to a school, so it's $25 a session. normally acupuncture is $70-100 a session.

the herbs are $13 for a 10 day supply. you might want to start with an herb consultation ($30) and see if that helps.

I'm glad it was helpful. See? Nothing to be scared of.
