Did you know the iPod's internal rechargeable battery is not replaceable?
It seems that the battery in an iPod is good for about 500 charges before the usage time starts to really deteriorate. With daily use that would give you about a year and a half of use.
Fortunately this is a big enough of a problem that folks have taken it into their own hands to replace the batteries rather than fork out $250 to apple to replace them.

damn apple. they sound like the car companies, 'planned obsolesence' to the extreme. they need to take a page from the big N. they made their new GB advance sp's with rechargable batteries, and shockingly, they can be removed. by the way, the SP kicks some ass.
