I have found the secret punk hideout

Posted by tomo at 02:03 AM in art . | 12 Comments

I found these stencils (STENCILMANIA! Part VIII!) by some train tracks here in Ann Arbor. I think there used to be more graffiti there, but now it's just two walls. There is evidence that the inhabitants have discovered fire and alcohol. I'm not sure if this is the "legal" graffiti mentioned here (At first, it was graffiti, but when it was brought to court, the railroad said that they wanted it there, so the case was dropped.). This hella old A-town graff on graffiti.org from '95 might be at this location and may also be what's referred to.

Also, I have hacked together a quickie comment system (looks just like MT! but it's not!) so feel free to comment/break shit.

12monkeys is TG's finest, with only Brazil coming close.

I agree, 12M is the best. Did you get a chance to see Lost in La Mancha? Wanted to see it but didn't get a chance on the one night it was showing here (one night wtf!!). Probably good if you're a hardcore Terry Gilliam fan. DO NOT watch Brazil while on acid if you haven't seen it before. I want to go watch 12 Monkeys now.. at the secret punk hideout. There's broken and burnt stuff there, evidence of a past civilization having discovered booze and fire. They left interesting cave paintings. Cave paintings are also punk rock.

no i did not see that doc yet. I heard it was great. I really disapointed the movie didn't get made, it sounded pretty cool. anyway, 'lost in la mancha' is out on dvd now. it's supposed to be quite funny. gilliam4eva

i saw lost in la mancha on dvd. it was ok. i had read/heard great reviews, but i forgot to factor in that professional movie reviewers are probably more interested in how films are made that i am. the movie is basically just terry gilliam running around saying, 'shit... we're fucked.'

johnny depp is totally hot, and the movie looks like it would be good, if it ever gets made.

it'll never get made. unfortunatley. Once a movie with a budget as large as that one fails, studios usually don't put the money up again. I'm not sure, but I heard the studio lost millions in the few weeks of production.

actually, the insurance company lost money, not the backers and he's bought the rights of the movie back from the insurance company. i guess they get the rights for a moive that they pay up for. anyway, he'll proably try to make it again.
