Eh, its nothing new. Many aspiring politicians work their ass off, just to get their name out there. Entertainers have a great advantage when it comes to this. I'd like to think that people vote for more than just a name they recognize, but I'm not sure that many do.. at least when it comes down to state and local politics, something not many folks follow.

We've seen a lot of entertainers turned politicians, so this is no big suprise to me. Arnold, Jesse Ventura, Sonny Bono.. and nothing can top actor turned leader of the free world, Ronald Reagan.

besides having your name out there, also having a lot of money doesn't hurt either. i'm sure there are millions of indescribably more capable people than dubya to lead our country, but they just don't have the funding to get what basically boils down to advertising to further their cause. i'm also sure that lots of people voted for dubya (and maybe schwartzenegger, i just don't know of any personally) solely based on party affiliation. when it comes down to it, is voting for a celebrity based on the fact that he's well-known all that different for voting for bush or gore based on the fact that they're a democrat or a republican?

relating to the "don't let anybody vote" comment, i've got beef with the fact that the vote of a political scientist from an ivy league school counts the same as some bare-footed inbred high school dropout from the backwoods.

take all this with a grain of salt, because i've got no idea what i'm talking about... also, i believe everything i read. in addition, i might be drunk ;)

The reason I posted this link was because I found it really funny, being that it isn't a joke. The creator is serious. I personaly think it's a little nutty!

I started off a supporter for Arnold, but after reviewing some of his positions I have changed my mind. None the less, I still dont feel like the person that created that site.
